Is chiropractic right for me?
Is chiropractic safe?
For most people, yes. Serious side effects are rare. Some people feel mild soreness or stiffness for a day or so after treatment, like after exercise. Dr Damien takes a full history and examines you before any treatment, explains any risks, and uses gentler techniques where they're more suitable.

Most people find adjustments comfortable. You might hear a click, which is gas being released from the joint. If something doesn't feel right, tell Dr Damien and he'll change his approach.
Is there evidence that chiropractic helps?
For some conditions, such as lower back pain, spinal manipulation is one of the treatments recommended in clinical guidelines, alongside staying active and exercise. Dr Damien will be honest about whether he thinks chiropractic is likely to help you.

Yes. Chiropractors in Australia complete a university degree of around five years and must be registered with the Chiropractic Board of Australia through AHPRA. Dr Damien holds two degrees from RMIT University.

No. You can book directly.
Will I need x-rays?
Only if your history or examination suggests they'd help. If so, we'll refer you to a local imaging clinic.
What if chiropractic isn't right for me?
Dr Damien will tell you and suggest who to see, such as your GP.

How much does a visit cost?

Can I claim on my private health fund?
Yes, if your policy includes chiropractic. You can claim on the spot with HICAPS, so you only pay the gap.

If your GP gives you a Chronic Disease Management plan that includes chiropractic, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for some visits.
