Chiropractor for headaches

Some headaches start in the neck and shoulders. We'll check whether yours might, and what can help.

We reply within 1 business day. For anything urgent, call.

Is this you?

  • Headaches that start at the base of your skull or the back of your head
  • A tight band across your forehead or around your head
  • Headaches that come with a stiff neck or tight shoulders
  • Headaches that are worse after long days at a desk or behind the wheel

How we assess headaches

Headaches have many causes, so the first step is a careful history. Dr Damien will ask when your headaches happen, what they feel like and what makes them better or worse. He'll then check how your neck and upper back are moving.

If your headaches look like they're linked to your neck, treatment may include gentle adjustments, soft tissue work, and exercises and posture changes you can do yourself. If they don't, he'll tell you and suggest you see your GP.

See your GP or go to hospital straight away for a sudden, severe headache ("the worst ever"), a headache with fever, stiff neck and rash, confusion, weakness, loss of vision or speech, or a headache after a head injury.

Common questions

Can chiropractic help migraines?

Migraines have many triggers. If neck tension is part of the picture, care for your neck may help alongside your GP's advice. Dr Damien will be honest about what he can and can't help with.

How will I know if it's helping?

A headache diary is useful: note how often headaches happen and how strong they are. We'll review it together.
