Pregnancy chiropractor
Gentle care for back, hip and pelvic discomfort while you're pregnant.
Not sure if it's right for you? Call and we'll talk it through.
Why pregnancy can be uncomfortable
As your baby grows, your posture changes, your centre of gravity moves forward, and hormones loosen the ligaments around your pelvis. Many women feel it in their lower back, hips, pelvis or upper back and shoulders.
How we help
- A careful history, including how your pregnancy is going and any advice from your midwife or doctor
- Gentle techniques adapted for each stage of pregnancy, with positioning and cushioning so you're comfortable
- Practical advice on sleeping, lifting, and staying active
We work alongside your midwife, obstetrician or GP. If anything in your history means chiropractic isn't suitable right now, we'll tell you and suggest who to see.
Common questions
Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?
Dr Damien checks your history first and uses gentle techniques and positions suited to pregnancy. Let us know about any complications, and check with your midwife or doctor if you're unsure.
When can I start?
At any stage, as long as your pregnancy is going well. Many women come in when discomfort starts.
What should I bring?
Comfortable clothes, and any notes from your midwife or doctor that might be relevant.
Contact your midwife, doctor or hospital straight away if you have bleeding, fluid loss, severe or constant abdominal pain, a bad headache with vision changes, or reduced baby movements.
